New Member IDs Delayed

All Local 68 member Union ID cards expired on December 31, 2022.

We are working on producing replacement cards for everyone, but have hit a technical snag delaying production.

Continue to use your existing Union ID card until you receive a replacement in the mail, hopefully by the end of January.

Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Habitat for Humanity May 21 2022

Man, what a scorcher today!  Another great day with my Local 68 brothers volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in South Amboy. Such a tough group of hardworking guys! The house is up and waiting for spackling, so we packed and delivered a couple truckloads of scaffolding to the Plainfield warehouse and built an 8×8 shed for the new homeowners. Great day outside with great people!!

Local 68 Apprentices volunteer with Morris H4H

Saturday March 19, 2022

Local 68 Apprentices got together for a Habitat for Humanity build day in Landing, New Jersey.

A last-minute work situation almost had me reschedule/cancel, however Tyler Dellorusso (2nd year apprentice) stepped up and lead the team.
Tyler has volunteered many times before and has a good working relationship with H4H Foreman Mike Dakak.

Our brothers and sisters worked together in the fog and drizzle, to prepare a property lot for delivery of a house.

The crew spend the day digging and picking trenches, installing silt fencing and backfilling.

“They all worked very hard and well together and I have nothing but great things to say about the crew” – (Mike H4H foreman)

The house being delivered was built by students at Roxbury High School and awaits delivery to this location. Here’s the NJ.com story about the house being built.

We hope to resume sales in a few months once the problem subsides.

Habitat for Humanity 12/18/2021

Chuck Ransiear once again took a crew out to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Here’s what he had to say…

Habitat for Humanity project day with some Local 68 brothers. Small crew today due to COVID restrictions, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with the work these guys accomplished. I really enjoy getting the opportunity to work with the next generation of Operating Engineers. These guys are truly talented hustlers, that get the job done and done well!
