The 88th Newark St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Newark’s streets
Friday, March 10, 2023
with an updated route and a new reviewing stand location.
Newark Saint Patricks Day Parade (newarkstpatricksdayparade.org)
Reviewing Stand Time and Location
New location – Opening Ceremonies and Parade Review will begin at 12 pm at the corner of Center St and Mulberry St, directly across from the NJ Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).
Parade Assembly and Route
The Parade will form on Mulberry Street south of Raymond Blvd. Kickoff at 1 pm sharp. This is a different formation point from prior years due to traffic considerations at the Prudential Center. The Parade will proceed as in the past from the starting point north of Mulberry Street, turning on Center St. by the reviewing stand, past NJPAC, crossing Broad St onto Central Avenue, past the Central Avenue/Halsey Street reviewing stand to Washington Street, ending at Harriet Tubman Square (formerly Washington Park.) After the Parade is completed, we will reassemble at the Central Avenue/Halsey Street reviewing stand to present awards to our school band contest winners.
Traffic Pattern and Street Closures
Market Street will be open east and west throughout the event. Mulberry Street north of Market Street will be closed at 11 am, along with Raymond Blvd, Center, Park, Commerce, Clinton Street and Halsey Streets, and Central Avenue to Washington St. Expect intermittent closures on Broad St. and Raymond Blvd.
We look forward to a great celebration of the Irish in Newark and a tribute to our great city’s diversity.
