6 Days on, 2 Days off  2pm-10pm

Operates performs routine and preventative maintenance tasks on the three high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment in the central heating plant.  This includes igniting the boilers on natural gas or #2 fuel oil, inspecting and maintaining the feed water systems, controls, pumps, deaerator tank, condensate tank, chemical feeds, etc.  Reads and records various temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and levels during the course of the shift.  Please review the job description for a full list of duties and responsibilities.  

Position Requirements:            High School diploma

                                                Local 68 Apprenticeship Graduate or attendee

                                                Blue seal license for steam

                                                Mechanical aptitude             

                                                Valid driver’s license

Communicate effectively with others, both orally and written.  This is especially important when interacting with students.
